John Zavodny, Ph.D. is Professor of Philosophy and Humanities at Unity College where he teaches philosophy, leadership, and environmental communication courses. He plays guitar, sings and writes some songs for “Dog Wants Out,” a community music project dedicated to supporting local agriculture in Maine. John comes to New England via the Near South (east Tennessee) and considers himself to be of tri-patri-matri-home-grown-lilneage, which means that he very much loves Cleveland (his birth city), Tennessee, his mother's home, and Maine. John now lives in Belfast Maine where he and his wife Anna (and his contractor) just renovated a very abused old home.
